ABOUT LAUREN alexandra

Ever a mercurial mixture, I'm an animistic astrologer, diviner, and spiritual practitioner tending a garden of rich practices and technical tools. Through Hellenistic, psychological, land-based, queer, and ethically-oriented methodologies and considerations, I bring forth the magic of making meaning. I revel in revitalizing time-honored teachings for contemporary needs, including those our ancestors never knew we'd contend with. At my core, I'm traditional with an intuitive twist.

The complexity of the cosmos captivates even the most secular mind if given half a glance. In many ways, it was through this multiplicity of stellar wonder that I wove myself onto this path of mysticism and magic.

A child of an aerospace engineer Capricorn father and jack-of-all-trades Gemini mother, I was taught to look up and around with reverence and action long before I even recall learning the lessons. Life was for doing and learning (‘being’ was a lesson I had to learn on my own). Left with the fecund gardens of California and then Colorado as benevolent babysitters, I walked with nature and loved its lushness in the safety of life’s softer seasons.

This instilled a yearning ache for the above and below that I did not understand until two decades later when my feet found a spiritual path. I escaped the lonely isolation of agnostic uncertainty for endless interconnection of Gods and animism. My experimental, syncretic, and mistake-riddled solo practice later stabilized with the aid of formal teachings, spirit guidance, and more disciplined efforts.

Horoscopes came first, enticing me through ye olde AOL email forecasts that offered little for the 11-year-old-mind beyond a subtle knowing that someday, the adult notions of career, romance and health could coalesce into greater meaning. From there I found digital cards that again, took no heed of the child but whispered of more ahead to a soul in waiting. After a decade of intrigue, I finally began to dabble more deeply, dragged into a need for divination with the more acute awareness of spirits and Gods that defined my mid-twenties.

Fast-forward to now. I sit, having practiced tarot and oracle divination actively for over 15 years, while indulging the curiosity of the cards and stars since childhood.
